The Career Center can help you put your best foot forward and build a strong relationship with employers and alumni in your field. We would like to be aware of all employer and alumni connections happening on campus, so that we may provide resources to support their visits and encourage a long-lasting relationship with the UMBC community.
We would love the opportunity to collaborate with your organization! By completing the Student Org Guest Speaker Request form, we can offer the following benefits:
- Guidance on bringing an employer and/or alumni to campus
- A speaker gift for your guests
- Free parking codes and directions for your guests
- Advertising for your event through Handshake and the Career Center’s myUMBC group events calendar
- Networking tips for your student organization
We recommend the following timeline for requests:
- 4 weeks in advance of your event date for assistance with obtaining speakers
- 3 weeks in advance of your event date for marketing requests
- 2 weeks in advance of your event date for parking requests
- 1 week in advance of your event for speakers “thank you” gift requests
