Interview Rooms for Students

Remote interviews are occurring more frequently than ever, taking place via telephone, Zoom/Webex/Teams, or other video conferencing tools.  Employers and graduate schools are utilizing remote interviews to efficiently screen applicants.  One of the key factors to having a successful remote interview is holding it in a distraction-free space where your interviewer is able to clearly see and hear you. Also, having a high-quality phone and internet connection is an important factor.

The Career Center’s interview rooms are available for UMBC students to reserve for remote interviews with a potential employer or graduate school and are equipped with a dry-erase board, and computer with wired internet connection, webcam, and Zoom/Webex/Teams software.

If you would like to reserve a room, please complete the Interview Room Request Form, and depending on availability, we will do our best to accommodate you.  All submissions will be reviewed and you will be contacted via the provided phone number and/or email address in response to your request.

Students who wish to reserve an interview room, but use their own equipment (cell phone/laptop) are welcome to do so.  If you are using Zoom/Webex/Teams on our computer, we request that you log in with your own account.
