PRIMARY DUTIES
- Oversee the Internships and Employment Team
- Develop and maintain faculty and staff relationships for applied learning initiatives
- Individual full-time/part-time employment and internship search strategy development (specializing in the arts, humanities and social sciences)
- Resume, cover letter and personal statement reviews
- Administration of the University’s internship, cooperative education and research practicum courses (PRAC 95/98/99, including CPT)
- Support for workshops, presentation and professional skill development

- Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL), concentration in Talent Development
Lewis University - Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), concentration in Finance

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
Marykate came to UMBC with 10 years of career development experience. She began her career in recruiting and staffing and then moved to launch and direct the Career Development Office in the business school at Catholic University. She brings experience in experiential education and applied learning curriculums, faculty partnerships, career coaching, and creating and analyzing meaningful and impactful career development programming, events, and employer relations to her role on the leadership team in the Career Center at UMBC. Marykate is passionate about expanding experiential education to support students in their discovery of their strengths and obtaining their life goals.
