Where are you now?
In July 2009, I will be moving out to Seattle, WA and starting my job at Microsoft as a Software Design Engineer Test.

What was the best part of using the Career Services Center in your job search?
CSC provided the easiest way to land an interview with Microsoft by providing on campus interviews. Also there were information sessions where UMBC alumni from Microsoft are very eager to help students with the interview questions.

Besides this, CSC was very helpful with resume building. They were quite friendly. It's the first place students should go to while searching for jobs, especially if it is their first time searching..

Any advice you would give to other students?
Keep applying everywhere and anywhere that you see a suitable and interesting job profile. Which means be on the lookout for jobs. There is going to be at least one position which matches your profile. Even when you are only a slightly similar match - companies need you as much as you need the job. They are more than eager to help you prove yourself at the interviews, even those that are known to have some of the toughest interview processes, like Microsoft. Also, every interview process helps. Do not be disheartened if after trying, you do not get through. Re-apply after the grace period if you really want the job. It landed me into my dream company! Also in times like these, it doesn't hurt to be a little flexible with the companies/job profiles you are applying to; just to keep your options open.
