Where are you now?
Come June, I will be working as a Software Engineer for Northrop Grumman.
What was the best part of using the Career Services Center in your job search?
I was first introduced to Northrop Grumman through the information session they had on campus. There was a huge turnout of both students and recruiters and it was a great opportunity to learn about the company. I was able to talk to several current employees (some of which came right from UMBC) and give my resume out and was later called in for an interview.
Any advice you would give to other students?
Get experience during your college career by participating in an internship or co-op. With every interview that I had, my internship was the main focal point for employers. Once you are in the job market, I would definitely recommend getting your name out there. Attend job fairs, information sessions, and similar events and start networking. Utilize the Career Services Center and The Shriver Center - they're there for a reason! |
