Advising Students

Each department has a CSC Career Specialist liaison interested in working closely with departmental faculty and staff. CSC also has major-related resources outlining career options, salaries, and more.

Where Do UMBC Students Go? What Do They Earn?

To get a sense of where students head after commencement, each December and May, CSC surveys graduating students using UMBC's Graduating Student Report. Information on jobs, graduate programs, salaries, etc. is collected. For information collected from last year's survey, specifically for the students/academic department you oversee, contact your liaison (listed above).

You can also get an idea of national, entry-level salaries by major via the NACE Salary Survey. The complete report detailing most job functions, and master's and PhD salaries, is available in in our Career Resource Center (MP 212).
